PROJECT: EMERGING ART FROM WAR-TORN SYRIA: WAR & HOPE
A traveling art exhibition curated by Tony Khawam featuring Syrian American and Syrian artists focusing on building cultural understanding, and awareness of the rich Syrian arts, culture, and Middle Eastern Americans.

This project has won Broward County Cultural Division, FL “Creative Investment Program Award” (2020); and partially sponsored by Florida Department of Arts & Culture, ArtServe, WLRN Public Media Miami PBS-NPR and the Syrian-Lebanese American Arts & Culture Society and individuals like you. The exhibit was hosted in 2020 by ArtServe Miami, and on a tour to the UN HQ in New York and hopefully to several US cities. We need your support to do two more exhibitions in two U.S. cities. All venues were documented with photos, and videos, the reach and engagement statistics were compiled from the websites and social media are good testimony for the success and intended goals and outcome of this project which engaged the community with a dialogue through questions and answers during every event with a reach over 20,000 and engagement over 10,000 with online lectures, performances, film screening and culinary arts to build bridges between the multicultural communities of South Florida and help people learn to build cultural understanding, dispelling stereotypes, and fostering interest, awareness and connections of South Florida’s Middle Eastern and other communities.
Middle Eastern-American cultural events in conjunction with “War & Hope” exhibition, all events are free on virtual Zoom and live streaming.
